Radiant Heating
Radiant infrared heating is the type we enjoy from the sun, from a wood stove, and from a modern natural gas fired infrared zone heater. The reason we enjoy radiant infrared heat so much is that is enters and heats our bodies (and other objects), not the air around us. Infrared rays release heat only when they strike an object, making infrared a very cost-effective way to heat a space!
The higher the ceilings are, the greater the benefit of radiant heating. A high ceiling means more volume of air that is heated (possibly with little benefit) by other types of space heating. Because infrared heats the occupants of the space more than it heats the space, it becomes the automatic first choice for large open spaces with high ceilings.
In a drafty work environment (like a loading zone, entry area,, other outdoor or semi-enclosed work zone), radiant infrared heating reduces the time it takes to reheat the area (as inevitably happens in this type of space).
Building materials, liquids, paints, and solvents also benefit (and handle more easily) by exposure to the heat blanket that infrared radiant heat delivers to the floor area where it is focused.
In a commercial setting, infrared radiant heating invites customers to enjoy your seasonal outdoor and semi-enclosed show and sales areas (seasonal garden departments, patio furniture displays, outdoor equipment displays).
